Love Atlantic 2023
A WEEK OF RADICAL GENEROSITY AND SERVICE IN JESUS’ NAME
From September 24 through October 1, Crosspoint is joining other Atlantic Canadian congregations of all sizes, representing multiple denominations, to actively seek ways to serve and bless our local communities as a demonstration of the love and compassion of Christ.
Below you will find information about how we are participating this year. Thanks for your generosity in serving the Kingdom in Fredericton and beyond!
Marysville BBQ
We’re joining with the other churches in Marysville on Sunday, September 24 from 12 PM to 2:30 PM for a BBQ at the Marysville Heritage Centre (11 McGloin St, Fredericton, NB E3A 5T8) to officially launch our Love Atlantic efforts this year.
Come on out (bring a folding chair to sit on) and enjoy some good food, good company, and good music.
Invite your friends, family, and neighbours. We’ll have plenty for all!
We are seeking volunteers to serve at the BBQ on the 24th, and we also need folks asap to help distribute invite cards to the residents of Marysville.
Interested? Contact Stephen.
12 Neighbours | NEW Opportunity
We have recently added an opportunity for service at 12 Neighbours!
For those who may be unfamiliar, 12 Neighbours is an affordable, dignified micro home community, where housing is just the beginning.
We’ll meet at the 12 Neighbours site (100 Smart Centres Way) at 1 PM on Friday, September 29, to spread top soil and seed the area.
Please bring a shovel, a rake, and a pair of gloves if you have those items readily available.
Thanks for serving!
Caton’s Island Cabin Construction
Earlier this year, Crosspoint raised the funds to build a cabin for future campers at Caton’s Island. Several of those cabins have begun the construction process and the workers are trying to complete them before this season wraps.
We are planning to send a crew down to Caton’s Island on Saturday, September 30 to help with the ongoing construction. Basic carpentry and construction skills are required.
If you are interested in participating in this work day – or if you are available for multiple days lodging will be provided – contact Stephen for more information.
Gibson-Neill Memorial Elementary School Hats, Mitts, and Socks
We’re partnering with Gibson-Neill again this year to provide some much needed winter items to students amongst that community that are in need.
Crosspoint, including our CP Seniors ministry, has regularly given toward the food insecurity that exists amongst school children in our own community.
This year, we were made aware of a need for winter clothing items. In response to that need we are going to collect winter hats, mittens, and winter socks to be distributed to those students in need within the Gibson-Neill community.
Physical items may be dropped off at Crosspoint anytime during regular business hours and/or Sundays. (The final day for donations to be collected is Sunday, October 1)
If you’d prefer to make a financial donation, please ensure to ear mark the funds “Love Atlantic”
