L.D. Buckingham, Lead Pastor, Moncton Wesleyan

buckinghamLeading Atlantic Canada's largest Church has been both his call and passion for over 40 years. Believing that the church ought to be the most relevant, cutting edge, and happening organization in any city, Pastor Buckingham has led Moncton Wesleyan from a small traditional congregation of less than 100 to a vibrant ministry reaching thousands!

AJ Thomas, Lead Pastor, Deep Water Wesleyan

ajDeep Water started with the idea of a church that connected with people who weren't into church as usual, a community where people with little or no religious background could explore what it means to follow Jesus. In 2007 a group of committed individuals gathered regularly to pray, dream, and plan, and on Nov 4th, 2007, the adventure went live with our first worship gathering at Empire 8 Park Lane. In the time since then we have continued to grow and develop with ministries like Small Groups, the Foundations Courses, luvHAITI, and luvHALI, and we continue to pursue our mission to help people become passionate followers of Jesus Christ.

Rob Nylen, Senior Pastor, Main Street Baptist Church, Saint John.

robHe is the main teacher and gives leadership as the church carries out its vision. Rob is also an adjunct lecturer at Acadia Divinity College, Wolfville, Nova Scotia.  Main Street Church has been an integral part of the North End since 1842. It was a church plant from Germain Street (uptown) in hopes of reaching out to a new part of the city.  We have been using the phrase beautiful church to describe what God is doing here: bringing together an amazing mosaic of diverse people from different ethnic, economic and age backgrounds.

Dave Morehouse, Lead Pastor, Allison – The Journey Church, Moncton, NB

daveSince 1986, Dave Morehouse has been the lead pastor of The Journey Church (formerly known as Allison Baptist Church) in Moncton, New Brunswick. Over these past 24 years God has enabled Dave to have a missional vision for the local church that has led to many changes. These include growing from a small- size to a large-size church, constructing a new facility, adding multi-staff, becoming a multi-service/multi site church, forming a partnership with Baptist churches in Rwanda, and changing an established local church’s organizational paradigm. These external changes hopefully mirror a deeper appreciation of the cost and the choices a pastoral leader must learn in order to navigate a local church in the 21st century. As well, Dave presently serves on the board of directors of World Vision Canada. He has travelled internationally to Rwanda, Ethiopia, Honduras, Malaysia and Cambodia. He is a graduate of the Arrow Leadership Program and from Regent College with a Masters of Divinity. He also is a contributing columnist for Religion Today, a column in Moncton’s daily newspaper. Dave and his wife Nancy are the proud parents of four young adults; Megan, Thomas, Brett and Wesley.
