You walk through the doors and you're greeted by loud rock music pumping from the next room. Your friends meet you at the door and you're faced with the tough decision of whether or not to rock out on Mario Kart or beat up your friends on Wii Boxing. After hanging out for a while, you enter into the large room where the music was playing earlier - it's dark, except for a few colored lights cutting through the foggy haze. Onstage a live band begins playing loud music and everyone's jumping at the front.
I bet you weren't expecting this when you walked through the church doors.
Welcome to the Shakedown, the place to be if you're a teenager in Fredericton.
Why are we doing this? Because chances are, as a teenager you think church is boring - that it's no fun, the music is lame and there's nothing to get out of it. That is a stereotype that we are destroying.
